The setlist from Paul Thorn Acoustic last night. http://www.triadacousticstage.com It was a fun night and an awesome show. I have seen Paul perform numerous times but never without a band. This was a treat and I really enjoyed the stories and intimacy of the crowd. Of course I enjoyed being a foot from the stage as well. Many of my North Carolina friends were there that I see regularly at shows. That is always a positive part of any music show, being in the house with fellow music-loving people. Paul played this one last night. I really enjoyed the story behind the song. He opened a show for Sting and saw this tattoo on a background singers arm. He wrote this song from what she said.
She’s got a tattoo on her shoulder
It’s a blue eye with a tear
She got it drinkin’ one night when her thinkin’ wasn’t clear
He was short but good looking, rugged green eyes and animal charm
That silver tongued devil inspired that love scar
On her arm
He said “if I could be a tear rollin’ down your cheek,
And die on your lips my life would be complete”.
The words that he said really hit her in the heart,
So now she’s walking round
With a love scar.
She was just another notch
On his snake skin belt,
And now she knows
So she hides it under a long sleeved blouse
So it won’t show
She once thought it was beautiful
It’s no longer a work of art
That ink needle didn’t hurt
But she’s got a love scar
On her heart
