Well. The crowd was here to see this guy. And he did not disappoint. The first song was the Grateful Dead’s “Shakedown Street” and it just rode on from there.

Nothin’ shakin’ on Shakedown Street. Used to be the heart of town.
Don’t tell me this town ain’t got no heart. You just gotta poke around…
A snapshot of my afternoon. before the show. It was COLD and breezy in this mountain town. I love the place. So cool in so many ways. As I parked in the garage next to library I went to the elevator. Out stepped two young girls and a guy. They were laughing. As I stepped into the door I smelled the fresh remnants of dope smoke. I smiled. Welcome to Asheville. Money and hippies abound….
After a great meal and some micro-brew I went to find my place at the door for the show. Yeah it was cold. It always is. Part of the game for coming to this gig! There were people walking by with boom boxes playing Dead music and showing various drug stuff for sale. I thought….only in Asheville. Too funny. ‘Nuff said.
