I took this photo early as the crowd was milling around the exhibits and trying to get in through the gates. I was allowed to get in “early” which was almost the same as anyone else. It had rained very heavily the night before. My flight took forever to unload due to lightning. I finally took a train into downtown and was able to take a cab to the hotel. I was a long ride but I knew the highways were jammed so I made ok time given the situation. At last I was looking at the downtown skyline and Lake Michigan to the right. The lake was right on the fence of this place. The ground was saturated with all the recent rain. It was a pleasant day given the possibilities. Sometimes it feels like a miracle to be in a place so distant from home so fast through all the barriers to just getting it done…Farm Aid 30 was set.
