Donald is of course one-half of the team known as Steely Dan. The rest of the band including his partner Walter Becker are masters of their craft whether it is percussion, horns, vocals, or strings. Go listen to the perfection in the recordings of the
past decades. They are a test of the finest audio system. I have never bought a high -end audio component without listening to a Steely Dan track or two. True story. This was another great night right in front of a very talented band. I wish I should share all the photos
with you but really you should go fill any seat that is left for a live performance. After you see them live go buy all the recordings and listen. You will find some really cool lyrics and great sonic treasures.
Here is a song from the first Steely Dan album played live this week in Greensboro, North Carolina. “Dirty Work.” A nice memory, all the way back to the 1970’s. I was there as a child of the 1970’s. It was a good time to live and I am glad I have experienced this span of time.It was a good one.
Until next time, I’ll see you, down the road.
Times are hard
You’re afraid to pay the fee
So you find yourself somebody
Who can do the job for free
When you need a bit of lovin’
Cause your man is out of town
That’s the time you get me runnin’
And you know I’ll be around
I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah
I don’t wanna do your dirty work
No more
I’m a fool to do your dirty work
Oh yeah
Light the candle
Put the lock upon the door
You have sent the maid home early
Like a thousand times before
Like the castle in its corner
In a medieval game
I foresee terrible trouble
And I stay here just the same
